Watch Viva ELVIS Performers on The Price Is Right
I just found another reason to love that game show Price Is Right. You might say that it isn't the same without Bob Barker as the host. Personally, I can't complain with what Bob Barker brought to the show. That being said, I think Drew Carey definitely brings something to the table with his comedy background. The Drew Carey show was memorable not just for the jokes but also the theme song. I kind of lost count how many times you hear them sing Cleveland Rocks...Cleveland Rocks. Cleveland is after all the home of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Just imagine Drew with his love for rock music, being able to introduce a showcase most people would die for. There are a few names synonymous with Rock and Roll. It's not Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Buddy Holly or Ritchie Valens. Then it has to be...yeah you guessed it. Tupelo's own, Elvis Presley.
Now take a look at the video here...

Ventriloquist Jeff Dunham to tape special at Landmark
Laughter is the best medicine. That and the fact that it's not too bad in large doses unlike what you find at any pharmacy. If you're a fan of shows on Comedy Central then you should be very familiar with the name Jeff Dunham. Hopefully by this time, you have your tickets for Jeff Dunham's fourth Comedy Central special Friday and Saturday at Richmond's Landmark Theater.
Both shows are sold out with Dunham showcasing his talents with characters like Achmed the Dead Terrorist, Bubba J the Redneck and Peanut as part of the 100-city "Identity Crisis" tour.
Dunham doesn't have a bad resume either considering the New York Times Magazine has called him "the most successful comedian working in America." Not impressed? The last two years he's been named in Forbes magazine's 100 Celebrity roster of the most powerful entertainer. Oh, and he has over 5 million fans on Facebook.

Immaturity could hold Bryce Harper back
It's amazing what can happen in the span of a year. Your first job followed by your first paycheck. You would like to think you're more mature now than you were a year ago. Unfortunately, that may say that some of us don't exactly set the bar very high.
It was only a year ago Monday that Bryce Harper was drafted first overall in the draft by the Washington Nationals. On the diamond he has been knocking the cover off the ball with 14 long balls and 42 runs batted in for Class A Hagerstown. Harper looked like he was about to be promoted to play at the Double A level. All that was put on hold when Harper broke one of the biggest cardinal sins in baseball. What would that be?

It's National Donut Day!
Hey it's Friday. Not just the end of the week or time to cash your checks. I can come up with about dozen reasons today is so cool aside from the cash and the end of the week. Here's another reason why today is so cool. It's Donut Day too! So what's the big deal right? Just think of those mouth-watering Krispy Kreme donuts right in your face just waiting to be polished off.

Farewell, food pyramid — USDA is now serving up nutritional advice on My Plate
Say goodbye food pyramid and hello to my plate. In case you thought the food pyramid was too confusing the federal government scrapped that whole plan. Now it's going to be the plate divided into four sections with fruits and veggies on one side and proteins and grains on the other. To the right of the plate will be for dairy, i.e. milk or yogurt.
Every time I see something like this I can't help but laugh. For one, the food pyramid isn't confusing for me. It's pretty clear about what foods to eat and how much before you run into any problems. There's a good chance that "Big Brother" wants faster results from the food pyramid and figure with the new my plate that it will come to pass. Will it make us eat our broccoli even it's not our order at some Chinese take-out? There's nothing wrong with a bowl of ice cream now and then. Hey, it is a dairy product...right? Is there a way to keep the food pyramid and add the my plate. We all different body types and diets without even bringing your metabolism into the mix. Exercise has to be put into the equation too. Oh well, I guess the jury is still out on my plate. I hope it works.

Are Hayden Panettiere & Jets QB Mark Sanchez Dating?
I'm sure Hayden Panattiere has heard of the saying about art imitating life. It seems she took that whole playing a cheerleader thing in Heroes a bit too s
eriously. There's a rumor about her dating New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez.
It's been just three weeks since Hayden and boxer Wladimir Klitschko broke up. It's not like she would be sitting by the phone...right?
Sanchez and Panattiere were seen at an In-N-Out in Malibu, California. One person close to them said that the two are friends.

Aussie Rules player sent off for "dangerous haircut"
This is just too funny for words. Why? There are a few sports that stand out in my mind as full contact: Hockey, Soccer, Football and last but not least Rugby. Rugby is probably at the top of the list of the most violent sports in the world. I'm sure when it's time to get the team pictures it's probably a huge challenge for the photographer. On one team if their lucky, they might have 32 teeth...all together.

Can Weaver's win streak be stopped?
This year Angels pitcher, Jered Weaver has been nearly unstoppable for opposing batters. He's capable of changing speeds and coming at the batters with different arm angles. The Angels probably liked their chances of winning, considering Weaver leads the all of baseball in wins, e.r.a., innings pitched and strikeouts. On paper this looked to good to be true, especially since Jered had a perfect record of 6-0 and was looking to make it 7-0 against the likes of Johnny Damon, Sam Fuld and the rest of the Rays batters. Could he be stopped by anyone or anythingon this Sunday game in Tampa Bay? Yeah, he was. Not by any of the Rays batters but...a stomach virus.
Call it fate being postponed or the baseball gods in the sky intervening momentarily. The only Angels in the outfield on this day in Tampa were not of the heavenly variety. That's not to say Wells, Bourjos and Hunter are slouches at tracking down fly balls. If you've ever seen any team managed by Mike Scioscia, then you know his team will battle no matter how insurmountable the odds are against them.
The Angels have been able to stay afloat this year despite having to play without starting pitchers Joel Piniero and Scott Kazmir who have been on the disabled list for the Angels. Filling in for Weaver was rookie Tyler Chatwood. In the first inning alone he gave up seven hits and five runs to the Rays.

Grizzlies Go To Second Round!
Upsets are commonplace in college basketball, that much more when it's at the end of the year and there is a championship at stake. That's why they call it March Madness. The NBA's answer to this madness would be the playoffs that start not long after. It's about matchups. How else can you explain the eighth seeded Memphis Grizzlies eliminating number one seeded San Antonio Spurs last night.
The Spurs have three all-star caliber players
in forward Tim Duncan to go along with guards Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili. I don't think too many people saw Memphis as a team to reach the playoffs let alone beating the Spurs. Memphis has some young, talented players in guards Mike Conley and O. J. Mayo to go along with big man; Marc Gasol. A big part in speeding up their development has been from veterans like guard Tony Allen, waiver wire pickup Shane Battier and Zach Randolph. Though Randolph has a bad reputation with his work ethic and getting into fights with teammates in the past, he has been the Grizzlies main scoring option this year while holding is own on the boards.
Randolph's talent has never been questioned. If he has matured, then that isn't good news for the opposition. Zach has helped his team the Grizzlies, get through the first round...

Is Dallas ready for the Lakers?
The Dallas Mavericks will now face the L.A. Lakers Monday at Staples after winning their series against Portland four games to two. Most critics expected the team to fold in the first round of the playoffs against the underdog Portland Trailblazers who are led by injury plagued Brandon Roy. Dallas must have a Rodney Dangerfield complex. They get no respect. Dirk Nowitzki has heard all the talk of being labeled soft. Of course he consistently puts up big numbers considering you can count on him for a double digits in points and rebou
nds. It has more to do with how Nowitzki backs down when a teammate takes a hard foul by the opposition.
No matter what has been said you can't doubt there confidence no matter what team they have to play on any given night. It wasn't that long ago that Jason Terry started running at the mouth before a game against the Lakers. Though L. A. denies this was used as an incentive to take it to the Mavs, the Lake Show just happen to go on a winning streak starting with that particular game.
Aside from Jason Terry, Dallas center Tyson Chandler is anxious to play against the Lakers. It might to much of an obstacle for Chandler to go up against the much bigger Andrew Bynum of the Lakers. Are the Mavs up for the challenge?

McCourt Is a Joke!
Frank McCourt in all his glory, or whatever he has. You don't have to be a Dodgers fan to have ever heard of the man. Since taking over the Dodgers he has pinched pennies on the payroll while raising the prices on season tickets and stadium parking. It almost makes you wish it was possible to buy the team for yourself and a few of your buddies. In sports there are a few big markets i.e. L.A. and New York. In baseball currently there are two teams in New York. The Mets very briefly tasting glory in the 80's with players like Darryl Strawberry and Dwight Gooden while the Yankees are filled with Hall of Famers that have worn the Yankee pinstripes. Among them Babe Ruth, Mantle and DiMaggio just to name a few.
Though the Dodgers who once were in Brooklyn, have won the World Series six times. You want to guess how many the Yankees have. They have won twenty-seven times!
Frank McCourt should step aside and let somebody else take over as the owner. It's time for the Dodgers to change for the better. It doesn't hurt to make the playoffs, but it would be better for baseball for a big market team like the Dodgers to be World Series contenders. I hope the next owner will know what to do...
Frank is a joke and for anybody that believes anything he says... I guess you're the punchline.

Lakers Win!

Hey, the Lakers actually won. I'm sure that Laker Nation must have been sweating bullets after MVP candidate, Kobe Bryant sprained his left ankle in the Lakers Game four loss to the New Orleans Hornets. If the Lakers were barely getting by with Kobe, how would they be able to keep up with those scrappy Hornets? L. A. went as far as replacing reserve center Theo Ratliff's spot on the roster and activating guard Trey Johnson.
Let's not forget, Kobe was on crutches. Chances are, most people have no idea who Trey Johnson is. Going into Game five the Lakers were tied with the Hornets at two games apiece in the best of seven Western Conference Series. This was no way to end the season with coach Phil Jackson and girlfriend Jeannie Buss headed to Montana on his Harley Davidson for an early vacation instead of winning another chamionship for the Lakers.
The two most important things to this Lakers team and their title hopes have been Jackson's coaching and Kobe Bryant playing within Jackson's triangle offense. The Lakers have been on the wrong side of a player coming back from injury and willing their team to a win. Do the names Paul Pierce or Wes Unseld sound familiar. It turns out the Lakers were not quite ready to hand the game over to New Orleans...
Take a look at the story here...

Are you for real?
I'd like to start off by saying that I'm very open about my opinions if something rubs me the wrong way. Let's just call it my disclaimer to anybody that gets offended. These are the times that things on the news really make me sick. It could be something like someone abusing their kids or neglecting them.
